day 100 'psychedelic bus experience'

today I had a fantastic biking adventure! i went from my cobble hill, brooklyn neighborhood across the brooklyn bridge to the lower east side to meet friends for brunch. after brunch in the east village, we sat on their roof porch in the lower east side and enjoyed the beautiful weather, planted basil, took pictures, listened to groovy music, and chilled out. then i hoped on my bike and felt like taking a spontaneous uncharted route home and headed over the williamsburg bridge to get back into brooklyn. as soon as i landed in williamsburg, i went to go photograph graffiti under the belly of the bridge. i kept heading west and biked along the waterway checking out the scenes along the way. i had no idea where i was, but i knew i was heading south. once i broke away from the river, i had no idea where I was or what direction i was heading. then I came upon this super unordinary psychedelic bus! it was just sitting there on the side of the street wide open and free to roam. the artist who created this find, Kat, was working on a new raw bus just yards away. after saying hello to this gorgeous free-spirited artist, she told me I could even take a look inside! i got completely sucked into this bus. i had to document it all! check out the full set here. there was so much to take in! i even laid down on the floor of the bus to get this shot. i was so inspired!

so welcome to my day 100. wow. i made it this far! just like today, this has been quite a fantastic adventure! i have learned a lot through this process. but I think the best thing I have learned is that i am who i am. i could get sucked into everyone else’s 365 (and i do and love to!) and think that I am not doing enough, not being creative enough, not photoshopping enough ( I don’t’ even know how to use the damn program!), not planning out my shots enough, not using equipment that’s good enough (I LOVE my canon powershot sd600!) but I’m done comparing. i am who i am and this is MY journey. so there you go! and thanks to Kat for showing me it doesn't have to be such a struggle to find your own way and be your own way!

i just want to say THANK YOU to those fellow flickrites who have been watching my 365 unfold thus far. i am very grateful for all of your wonderful comments that make me feel warm and fuzzy inside! thanks for the support and love! i enjoy giving it all back to you!

i also want to give a special THANK YOU to Brooklyn Hilary, the woman who inspired me to join 365. i am so inspired by this fellow brooklynite for putting her fun-loving-real-human-self into images. she is so fun to watch! check out her 365 here. THANK YOU Hilary for inspiring me to take on this journey!

Isn't Hilary awesome? And I love your photos. Thus, I think you and I and Hilary need to hang out together.
