"Don't worry....be happy."
This is the photo I submitted for the NYC EYES section of the NY PRESS. This weekly photo section asks for "quirky, funny, original, offbeat images of NYC" by "the hottest new photographers in the city."" I knew this would be the right fit, and it was! I had been keeping an eye on NYC EYES for the past 6 weeks to see what kind of images made it. And this past Wednesday, MINE happened to be published! They didn't even tell me! I submitted it about a week and a half ago and I just opened up the newspaper and it was there! I have to admit, I was very excited! This is the second NY newspaper I have been published in this year.

Furniture Off the Street: Priceless
Every piece of furniture in my room is off the street! EXCEPT for my big beautiful queen size bed, which I bought, brand new!
I paid two kids that were playing ball on my block $6 bucks
(all that I had left in my wallet) to carry this dresser up one floor to my apartment. They were happy to complete the job. The Ikea lamp was found on my block as well.
This storage unit was left right in front of my building. It must have been my neighbors.
This small file cabinet was in the recycle room at that building I work in. It cost me $8 bucks to bring it home in a taxi.
I made this magnet out of an image I found in Time Out magazine.
This 50's vintage style kitchen chair is my favorite! It may even be an antique! I love the orange plastic/vinyl material used to cover the chair. I found it on my old block in the Lower East Side.
It love the studs and rich texture!
This step stool reminds me of my Aunt's house on the farm. It's been spray painted black and then I used it to paint my room white so it's not in it's original form, but I like it that way. It definitly have a retro feel to it. I found it right around the block from my old apartment in the LES.
View of the top of the stool.
The rubber steps.
I found this lamp on Hicks and carried it 10 blocks home without knowing if it was going to work or not. It was a suspenseful journey. I was happy to find out that it worked and even had a working light bulb in it!

day 7 'i put a spell on you'
today i got into a discussion about the Law of Attraction with a fellow flickr contact. i need to elaborate on this, but shit, it's friday night and i don't have time. more tomorrow.
added this note on 3.14.07
so...it's been a bit longer than i said it would be to elaborate. but here i am.
i have been teaching others about the law of attraction since late last year. i even created a workshop that was inspired by the movie, THE SECRET. i help people find ways to incorporate practices, habits, rituals, ideas and resources around creating what you WANT in your life.
this is how th LOA works. if you keep your focus on what you really WANT in your life, you will ATTRACT into your life people, places, things, and experiences that will help you manifest your desires into your reality. when opportunities are presented to you, it is YOUR job in the process to ACT and to RECEIVE. the reason the movie, THE SECRET is such a big hit, is because it does a great job of illustrating this process.
but the LOA is NOT new information. THE SECRET just happened to be the one to bring it out into the masses. you can also learn more about the LOA by reading books by Abraham, Deepak Chopra, Dr. Wayne Dyer, and Lousie Hay just to name a few. not to mention countless historical figures such as Plato, Shakespeare, Newton, Beethoven, Hugo, Lincoln, Emerson, Edison and Einstein all mastered the LOA. they may have had different names for explaining this process, but the principle is the same.
the LOA is ALWAYS at work. even if you are not a conscious participant in the manifesting process. have you ever noticed that when you are thinking a lot about someone, they always seem to call or end up in your path? this is the LOA at work.
if you constantly FEAR cancer, you are going to get cancer. focus on great health instead. if you focus on anti-war, you are going to get more war. focus on PEACE instead. if you stress and worry about your bills every month, you are going to get more bills. focus on checks coming in the mail instead. the universe will rearrange itself to give you exactly what you think about the most. positive or negative. there is no discrimination in the eyes of the universe.
i am here to say out loud that our mind is the most powerful tool we have. it's time that we stop perpetuating our VICTIM and LACK mentality and start taking responsibility for our lives 100%! YOU are the only one who can create YOUR reality. there is nothing you can not have, want or be. it is your birthright to have everything you desire. you have all the power inside of you to have what you want RIGHT NOW.
the most important ingredient in this process is to FEEL GOOD NOW! once you align your thoughts AND feelings with what your WANT you will experience miracles daily. when you vibrate feelings of happiness, gratitude, love, abundance, excitement, joy, laughter, bliss, and content you will attract MORE of that experience into your life. i guarantee it!
for those of you who think this is a lot of BS, i have news for you, that's your choice. and you will undoubtedly come across more information that makes you RIGHT, because that's what you will be attracting.
i am not interested in 'converting' those who do not believe in this law. that is not my intention. i attract people, by the LOA, into my life who are seeking out this information. these are the people who end up in my workshops. and i have watched many of them change their lives in the blink of an eye just by making different choices around their thoughts and feelings.
no, i did not 'put a spell on them' ....
i just gave them the information that inspired them to investigate just how powerful they really are. that's why i do this work!
