taking a break in between shoot locations. did a photoshoot with my actor friend dennis and his girlfriend kelly. they are moving out of of nyc and wanted to capture a piece of it before they left. we started in union square and walked through the east village, lower east side, and the east river waterfront. we had the best time. super lovely couple. i will be sad to see them leave. and did i say how amazingly awesome it is to get paid to do something that i love? i am grateful.

crazy storm gushing down rain in the early AM hours. lighting hit not so far from my apartment. the crackle was awesome! flooding messed up the whole city. and then there was some sort of explosion? water pipe? i don't watch much news....

sunday night i found out that i no longer had a job.

i was a in a bit of shock when i called a friend monday morning to talk about it.

she happened to be heading to ohio to visit her family for the holidays....

when i called her she was leaving in 2 hours and asked if i wanted to join her!

all i could think about was resumes, photo fliers and shit i needed to do to make some money happen! but i knew no one would be around this week anyway because of the holidays....so

i took a moment to think about it.....

i told her that i barely had enough money to make it through the week

but she reassured me that she would help me out along the way and once we got to her parents, i would be taken care of!

i didn't want to be a leech.

she told me that i would be doing her a favor by helping her drive part of the eight hours there and back. and i could take photos of Tom for her! that made me feel better.

i didn't want to be a victim of my circumstances.....

so i said YES!



note: this is also an ode to my favorite pair of sunglasses...i sat on them and broke them after we took some roadside pictures in pennsylvania. urgh! =(
